After firmware installation, tMESHhand can be used as a companion communicator
for sending text messages using the following protocols:

MeshCore
Meshtastic

tMESHhand connects via USB or wirelessly via Bluetooth to a smartphone app
and transmits the entered messages via LoRa (LongRange) radio.
Thanks to its very high sensitivity, LoRa allows communication with other devices or repeaters
several kilometers (depending on obstacles) away at very low transmitting power, comparable to WiFi.
Repeaters, can connect to each other in a mesh network and forward the message to the designated recipient.

The device has an energy-efficient nRF52840 processor and a LoRa SX1262 modem.
Thanks it with a good battery, it can operate for over a week.

LEGAL NOTICE:

The device is a development platform intended for experimental, educational, and integration applications.
The manufacturer does not provide firmware implementing the user's final radio function.
The board only contains a bootloader that allows for firmware flashing via the USB-C interface.
Firmware installation (e.g., Meshtastic, MeshCore, or other open-source projects) is the sole responsibility of the user.
After flashing one of the mentioned firmwares, the user is required to set the radio according to their country of residence;
in Europe, this is the EU range.

The user is responsible for:

  • compliance of the radio configuration with local regulations,
  • transmission power,
  • channel occupancy,
  • band and antenna selection.

 



The open-source Meshtastic and MeshCore protocols were written for LoRa radio devices for mesh network communication. Using multiple devices, especially dedicated repeaters, allows messages to be sent over significant distances using intermediary stations. This enables communication in areas without cellular coverage, in large population centers, when carrier BTSs are saturated, and, of course, during crisis situations, such as blackouts. Thanks to their very low power consumption and solar power, the repeaters can operate continuously without mains power. Communication is encrypted and available in both public and private modes (keys must be sent in advance).
