Discontinued version.
The INA740 is a I2C bus, digital power monitor with an integrated current sensing element along with a 16- bit delta-sigma ADC specifically designed for current sensing applications. The device can measure fullscale currents up to ±35 A with common-mode voltage support from up to +85 V. The INA740 reports current, bus voltage, die temperature, power, energy and charge accumulation. The integrated temperature sensor is ±2.5°C accurate over the junction temperature range. The low offset and gain drift design of the INA740 allows the device to be used in precise systems that do not undergo multi-temperature calibration during system integration. Sensor communicates digitally on the I2C bus and is supported by LK4 controller with firmware 1.42.
The sensor board not allows changing the internal address can be used one with a LK4.

Technical data:

  • current measurement range:      +/- 35A (both directions),
  • voltage measurement range:      85V,
  • internal resistance (shunt):         800 µΩ,
  • offset current:                                ±62.5 mA(max),
  • power monitoring accuracy:        ±1.6% (max),
  • energy and charge accuracy:       ±2.1% at 25°C (max),
  • temperature sensor accuracy:     ±1.5°C at 25°C (max),
  • resolution:                                       16bit
  • supply voltage:                               3,3V,
  • connecting holes                            diameter 4,3mm
  • sizes:                                                (L)63mmx(W)16mmx(H)44mm,
  • I2C bus cable lenght:                      27cm.

Start-up:

Sensor should be connected according to the drawing, for voltage measurement (and of course power and energy) the LK4 ground and the load ground must be common! In the case of an isolated system, only current measurement can be realized.
